Bucktons bird food
Bucktons is a long-established name in UK bird seed, and we stock a wide slice of the range — budgie, canary, parrot and dove mixes, plus pigeon conditioning feed and individual seeds such as hempseed and premium peanuts. It is a good starting point if you keep a caged or aviary bird and want a feed matched specifically to the species.

What we stock
The Bucktons range we carry includes seed mixes for budgies, the 50/50 budgie blend, an elite parrot food, a dove mix, robin and songbird feed, and a pigeon conditioner, alongside single-ingredient options such as hempseed and premium peanuts that can be used to supplement a main mix. Having this many species-specific mixes in one brand makes it easier to match feed to bird rather than relying on one general mix for everything.
Because seed needs differ genuinely between species — a budgie and a parrot are not looking for the same blend — checking the pack matches the bird you actually keep matters more with seed than with many other pet products.
Several of the mixes, such as the elite parrot food and the robin and songbird feed, are aimed at a fairly specific set of birds, which is worth bearing in mind if you keep a mixed collection or feed a variety of visitors to a garden aviary.
Choosing the right Bucktons mix
If you keep budgies, the dedicated budgie or 50/50 budgie mixes are the sensible starting point rather than a generic cage-bird blend, and the same logic applies to the parrot and dove-specific mixes for those birds. The pigeon conditioner is aimed specifically at fanciers preparing birds for breeding or racing condition rather than a general pet bird.
Single ingredients like hempseed and peanuts are best used as a supplement to a proper mix rather than a main feed on their own, since a complete mix is balanced for a bird's full nutritional needs in a way a single seed is not.
If you are just starting out with a particular species, the dedicated mix for that bird is a more reliable starting point than trying to build a diet from individual seeds, and you can always add extras like hempseed once you know your bird is settled on its main feed.
