Specifications

Brand: Bucktons

Full description

Finches have smaller, less powerful beaks than parakeets or parrots, which is the practical reason a seed mix aimed at them needs smaller seeds rather than simply being a scaled-down version of a bigger bird's mix.

Bucktons describe this mix as carrying a variety of small seeds for easy ingestion, suitable for all finch species, sold in a 2KG bag. Beyond that compatibility claim, no specific ingredient list or nutritional analysis has been supplied for this product.

What's missing here. Bucktons tell us this suits finches generally and that the seeds are small, but not what the individual seeds actually are, nor any nutritional breakdown — this is one of the thinner cards in the seed range.

Who it's for: owners of finches wanting a mix sized specifically for smaller beaks, rather than a generic cage bird seed aimed at bigger species.

Why we chose it

Seed size matters more than most owners realise for finches specifically, so a mix described as suited to all finch species rather than cage birds generally is worth the difference. It's a straightforward everyday seed rather than anything specialist.
