Giddy Pets started with a simple frustration: getting our own dogs and cats the good stuff shouldn't mean trailing round three shops, decoding ingredient lists, or paying a premium for the privilege.
Why we started
So we built the shop we wanted — quality food and treats, toys that survive more than one afternoon, comfy beds, and the everyday grooming and care essentials that keep pets happy and healthy. Thoughtfully chosen, fairly priced, and shipped fast across the UK.
The idea was never to be the biggest shop online — just the one you'd actually recommend to a friend. Good kit, fair prices, plain-English advice when you want it, and none of the markup or the guesswork.
We're not a vet or a clinic. For anything health-related, your vet is always the right first call — we're here for the food bowls, the chew toys, the cosy beds and everything in between.

Matt has lived with pets his whole life. Growing up there was Holly, the family dog who'd sneak out and follow the kids to school; then Penny, a thoroughly mischievous Bichon Frise, and Honey the Labrador. Add Ragdoll cats Duke and Simba, a calico called Opal who had a litter they couldn't bear to part with (they kept Corey), and Lottie the hamster — and you get the picture.
Today he's raising the next generation of animal lovers: his six-year-old is every bit as pet-mad as he is. That lived-in, pet-filled home is the lens every Knowledge Hub guide is written through.
Matt isn't a vet, and the guides are practical pet-care support rather than veterinary advice — for diagnosis or treatment, your vet is the right door. Spotted something a guide gets wrong? Email hello@giddypets.co.uk and it gets fixed.
How we research our guides
- Grounded in reputable, publicly available UK sources — the PDSA, Blue Cross, RSPCA, Dogs Trust and similar — which we cite at the foot of each guide.
- Every health or symptom guide carries a clear “when to see a vet” section, because we’re experienced owners, not clinicians.
- Written in plain English, from an owner’s point of view — practical guidance, never a substitute for veterinary advice.
- Kept under review as advice changes, and corrected quickly whenever a reader flags something.
