Most gardens get a wider variety of birds visiting in winter than in summer, which is one reason a general-purpose seed mix is built to work all year round rather than being pitched at a single season.

Bucktons Wild Bird Food combines wheat, kibbled maize, black sunflower seeds, red dari, white dari, yellow millet, safflower seed, red millet and oil, and the brand states it's suitable for all-year-round use.

• Composition: wheat, kibbled maize, black sunflower seeds, red dari, white dari, yellow millet, safflower seed, red millet, oil
• Suitable for all-year-round feeding
• 20KG bag

What the label doesn't say. Bucktons don't publish a protein, fat or energy analysis for this mix, and there's no list of which bird species it's aimed at beyond "wild bird" generally — so if you're trying to attract a specific species, this card can't confirm whether it's the right formulation for them.

Who it's for: anyone wanting a general seed mix to keep a feeder topped up through the year, rather than a species-targeted blend or a mix with a published nutritional breakdown.
