Specifications

Brand: Suet To Go
Food type: These cakes are perfect for use with any cake/block feeder and provide birds with an excellent source of high-energy complementary feed.

Full description

Insect protein is a much bigger part of a wild bird's natural diet than seed alone, and a suet cake with mealworm worked into it gets closer to that than a straight seed-and-fat block does.

These are mealworm suet cakes made from wheat flour, beef suet at 25%, mixed seeds, ground peanuts and mealworms, sold as a 10-pack. Suet To Go recommend year-round feeding from a suet cake feeder or bird table, in reduced-plastic, fully recyclable packaging.

10 cakes per box
Beef suet 25%, with wheat flour, mixed seeds, ground peanuts and mealworms
Mealworm named as a protein source
Use with a cake or block feeder, or place on a bird table
Reduced-plastic, fully recyclable packaging

On allergens. As with this brand's other suet cakes, ground peanuts are in the recipe and the card flags a peanut allergen risk — a consideration for anyone handling the feeder, not the birds eating it.

Who it's for: anyone wanting to attract insect-eating garden birds specifically, alongside the usual suet-feeding crowd.

Why we chose it

Mealworm is named on the ingredient list rather than folded into a vague "insect" description. It's the variant of this range worth reaching for if you're specifically trying to draw in insect-eating species rather than just the usual seed visitors.
