Specifications

Brand: Bucktons

Full description

Pigeon feeders often change their mix through the year to match what birds need at different points in the racing and breeding calendar, rather than feeding one blend all year round - which is why Bucktons sell several named mixes rather than a single generic pigeon food. VIP Mix is one of the warmer-months blends.

The composition is maple peas, wheat, red dari, white dari, popcorn maize, tares and safflower seed. Bucktons specify a March to September feeding window for this particular mix, rather than describing it as suitable all year round.

Composition: maple peas, wheat, red dari, white dari, popcorn maize, tares, safflower seed
Feeding time: March to September
20kg bag

On what's missing. No protein, fat or fibre analysis is given on this card, and no guidance is provided for feeding outside the stated March to September window - if you keep pigeons year-round, you would need a separate autumn or winter mix from the range to cover the rest of the year.

Who it's for: pigeon keepers following a seasonal feeding routine, who want the specific March to September blend rather than a generic all-year mix.

Bucktons VIP Mix

Why we chose it

Feeding pigeons a mix built for the actual time of year, rather than one blend regardless of season, is standard practice among keepers who take it seriously - and Bucktons naming the exact window rather than a vague description makes it easy to get right. The named-ingredient composition also means you know what is going into the loft.
