A pigeon racing home over distance is running on whatever it was fed before the basket, which is the whole case for a mix aimed specifically at performance rather than a general everyday corn.

Bestpets build this from wheat, maize, tic beans, blue peas, maple peas and tares — a legume-heavy mix rather than a grain-only one, which Bestpets describe as providing high levels of carbohydrate and protein for energy. It's specifically formulated for performance pigeons rather than resting or moulting birds.

• Wheat, maize, tic beans, blue peas, maple peas and tares
• Described as providing high levels of carbohydrate and protein for energy
• Formulated for performance pigeons
• May contain nuts
• 20KG sack

One thing worth knowing. Bestpets don't publish a specific protein or carbohydrate percentage for this mix — "high levels" is their own description rather than a figure to check it against. If you want an analysed number to compare against a rival performance mix, this card doesn't have one.

Who it's for: pigeon keepers feeding for performance rather than rest, who want a legume-heavy energy mix specifically for racing or working birds.
