Specifications

Brand: Bucktons

Full description

Cockatiels, lovebirds and small parakeets like Bourke's are close enough in size and diet that a shared seed mix makes practical sense, provided the seed sizes suit all three rather than being aimed at one and tolerated by the others.

Bucktons position this mix as suitable for small parakeets such as Bourke's, alongside cockatiels and lovebirds specifically, sold in a 2KG bag. Beyond that compatibility claim, no ingredient list or composition breakdown has been supplied for this product.

What's missing here. Bucktons tell us who the mix suits but not what's in it — there's no ingredient list, no seed breakdown and no analysis on this card, which is thinner than most of the seed mixes in this range.

Who it's for: owners of cockatiels, lovebirds or small parakeets like Bourke's wanting a mix aimed at that specific group of birds rather than a generic small-bird seed.

Bucktons Cockatiel & Lovebird Food

Why we chose it

Being aimed specifically at cockatiels, lovebirds and Bourke's rather than parrots generally is the reason to pick this over a broader seed mix, since seed size matters more for smaller-beaked birds than the label usually admits. It's a straightforward everyday seed for that group rather than anything specialist.
