Full description

Committing to a full-size bag of a food that might not suit a sensitive dog is a common way to end up with dry food nobody in the house wants to throw away, which is exactly what a smaller bag exists to avoid.

This recipe is built around dried lamb and lamb fat as the only animal ingredients, with brown rice supplying most of the carbohydrate alongside oats, peas and a small amount of seaweed. It's a complete food formulated for adult and senior dogs.

Complete food for adult and senior dogs, built around a single lamb protein
Composition: Brown Rice 58%, Dried Lamb 24%, Oats, Lamb Fat, Peas, Seaweed 0.5%, Minerals
Protein 20%, Fat 9%, Fibre 2.5%, Ash 8%
Calcium 2%, Phosphorus 1.3%, Sodium 0.36%
Essential Fatty Acids 3.2%
2KG bag

On the minerals. Calcium here is 2% and phosphorus 1.3%, coming from the lamb and lamb fat rather than a separate supplement. If a vet has your dog on a calcium- or phosphorus-restricted diet for an unrelated condition, that's worth checking against this recipe specifically rather than assuming any "sensitive" food is automatically suitable.

Who it's for: adult and senior dogs starting a single-protein lamb trial, where an owner wants a modest size before committing to more.

Burns Adult/Senior Original Lamb & Brown Rice

Why we chose it

A diet trial doesn't need to start with the biggest bag in the shop, and this is the size that lets an owner see whether lamb suits a sensitive dog before buying in bulk. It's the same single-lamb-protein recipe Burns build the larger bags from, so nothing changes if you move up in size later.
