Full description
A joint supplement is one of the few things you can add to an older pet's routine without changing what they eat, which is probably why they're bought so much more often than a diet change is.
VetIQ describe this as a complementary mineral feed for cats and dogs aged 6 years and over, built around calcium carbonate and dicalcium phosphate, with glucosamine, chondroitin sulphate, cranberry extract and ginseng extract alongside a run of B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E and taurine. It can be given whole or crushed over food, and VetIQ's own guide is half a tablet daily for cats up to 2.5kg, one tablet for cats over that weight, and two to four tablets a day for dogs depending on size, up to 30kg and above.
- Complementary mineral feed for cats and dogs aged 6+
- Contains glucosamine, chondroitin sulphate and cranberry extract
- Crude protein 3.1%, crude ash 85.3% (a mineral tablet, not a food)
- Calcium 32.6%, phosphorus 0.5%
- Can be given whole or crushed over food
- 45 tablets per pack
On what this is not. This is a mineral feed, not a medicine, and it isn't a substitute for checking with a vet if a senior pet is showing signs of joint pain or reduced mobility. The 85.3% ash figure reflects how much of the tablet is mineral content rather than anything nutritionally unusual.
Who it's for: owners of a cat or dog aged 6 or over who want a daily mineral and joint supplement to give alongside their normal food, ideally after checking in with a vet first.

Why we chose it
A tablet that can be crushed over food or given whole covers most pets, including the ones who'd never accept a whole pill. It's aimed specifically at the 6-plus age bracket, which is more useful than a generic all-ages joint supplement.
