Pooch & Mutt Salmon Oil

A coat that has lost its shine or a dog that seems a little stiffer than it used to be are both things owners often notice before they can name the cause, and a daily oil is one of the simplest additions to try — it does one thing, and it is easy to see whether it is working.

This is salmon oil at 99.5% of the recipe, with mixed tocopherols (natural antioxidants) making up the rest to help keep it stable once opened. Pooch & Mutt dose it by dog weight, from half a teaspoon a day for a toy dog up to four teaspoons for a giant breed.

One thing worth knowing. This is a supplement, not a treatment — Pooch & Mutt's own claims are about supporting skin, coat and joints, not resolving an existing skin condition, and a dog with a genuine skin problem needs a vet's opinion rather than a bottle of oil. The 90-day use-by-once-opened is also easy to lose track of on a bottle that size, so it is worth dating the cap when you open it.
