Full description

As dogs move into later life, owners often compare fibre and fat before they compare flavour. This mature recipe publishes both, alongside the actual chicken share and the rest of its mixed grain and animal ingredients.

Burgess Supadog Mature Chicken is complete dry dog food in a 12.5KG bag. Wholegrain wheat and wholegrain maize lead the composition. Poultry meal is 7.5%, including chicken at 6%; fish meal, poultry fat and poultry gravy are also listed. The recipe includes prebiotic FOS at 0.2%, prebiotic MOS at 0.1%, yucca schidigera at 0.012% and glucosamine at 0.007%. Its analysis declares crude protein 19%, crude fat 8%, crude fibre 5%, crude ash 8.5% and calcium 1.8%.

Feeding quantities are not supplied here. Burgess says to introduce the food over 7-10 days and keep fresh, clean water available, but the available guidance provides no portion table. The composition is also grain-led, with wholegrain wheat and wholegrain maize listed before the poultry meal.

Who it's for: owners of mature or senior dogs choosing a complete large-bag chicken food and wanting its grain-led composition, chicken percentage and analytical figures made easy to compare.

Burgess Supadog Mature Chicken

Why we chose it

For this mature-dog recipe, the 5% fibre figure is as relevant as the 6% chicken declaration. I chose it because those two facts make the food easier to compare on more than flavour.
