A dog getting greyer around the muzzle doesn't need a different flavour of food so much as a different balance in it - typically less fat for a body that's slowing down, and more support for joints that have carried it around for years already.

Golden Years is built around chicken at 50% of the recipe (23% freshly prepared, 23% dried, plus chicken gravy), with rice, barley, potato, peas and oats for the rest. Fat sits at 10%, and glucosamine, chondroitin sulphate and beta glucans are built into the everyday recipe. The makers file this smaller bag under weight-control rather than the senior category the bigger bag sits in, though the composition and analysis are aimed at older dogs either way.
