Halti puppy

Halti is a walking-equipment brand built around reducing pulling without relying on a choke or check effect, and the puppy end of the range is sized and shaped for a young, still-growing dog. We stock a selection including the Halti Anatomy Puppy Harness, alongside head collars and leads from the wider range that suit early leash training just as well.

What Halti's approach is built around

The head collar Halti is best known for works on the same idea as a headcollar on a horse — where the head goes, the body tends to follow — which gives an owner a gentler way to manage a dog who pulls than a collar around the neck alone. Their harnesses use a similar front-clip principle, redirecting a pulling dog back toward the handler rather than letting them lean into the pull.

For a puppy specifically, that gentler approach matters because a young dog's neck and throat are still developing, and early leash habits — good or bad — tend to stick. Starting with equipment designed to discourage pulling from the outset is usually easier than retraining an adult dog out of it later.

What we stock, and who it suits

Our range includes the Halti Anatomy Puppy Harness, sized and shaped for a young dog, alongside head collars and leads from the wider Halti range. What is shown in the grid above reflects what we currently have available to order.

This suits owners starting leash training with a puppy who already pulls, or who want to get ahead of the habit before it forms, rather than owners of an adult dog who walks comfortably on a standard lead already. A properly fitted harness or head collar only works as intended when it's the right size for the dog wearing it, so check the sizing guidance for the specific product before ordering.

Common questions

Is a head collar or a harness better for a puppy that pulls?
Both work on a similar principle of redirecting the dog rather than fighting the pull head-on, and which suits your puppy better often comes down to what they tolerate wearing and how they respond to the fit. Introduce either gradually and let your puppy get used to wearing it before expecting it to solve pulling on its own.
At what age can a puppy start wearing a Halti?
Follow the sizing guidance on the specific product rather than an age rule, since puppies grow at very different rates. A properly fitted, correctly sized harness or head collar matters more than the exact age your puppy is when they start wearing it.
Does a Halti stop a dog pulling on its own?
It makes pulling less rewarding and easier to manage, but it works best alongside some basic leash training rather than as a substitute for it. Most owners find the equipment and a little consistent training together get results faster than either alone.
Do you stock the whole Halti range?
No, we stock a selection rather than every product Halti makes. What's shown in the grid above reflects what we currently have available to order, and that can change as stock does.
