Size guide & how to measure

Harnesses are sized by the chest (girth) — the measurement around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.

How to measure

Stand your pet up squarely.
Wrap a soft tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
Keep two fingers under the tape so the fit is snug, not tight.
If your pet is between sizes, choose the larger one.

Full description

Lean on any animal's chest and it will lean back. Push harder and it leans harder — the response is older than training and it is not a decision the dog is making. That reflex is the entire reason a lead ring on the front of a harness changes a walk and a lead ring on the back mostly does not.

This one has both. There is a lead ring on the chest and another on the back, so the same harness does the walks where the dog is pulling and the walks where it is not. On the top there is a close control handle, which is the bit you grab at a kerb or when something comes round a corner, and along it a reflective 3M Scotchlite strip for walking in the dark. There are five points of adjustment, which is what lets a harness sit where it should on a deep-chested or a narrow dog rather than roughly where it lands. The Small fits a chest circumference of 16-24 in / 43-60 cm. Halti also make it larger, and in black as well as red.

What size dog does the Small fit?

Halti state a chest circumference of 16-24 in / 43-60 cm for the Small. Measure round the widest part of the chest, behind the front legs.

Where does the lead clip on?

How adjustable is it?
