Size guide & how to measure
Harnesses are sized by the chest (girth) — the measurement around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.
How to measure
- Stand your dog up squarely.
- Wrap a soft tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
- Keep two fingers under the tape so the fit is snug, not tight.
- If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger one.

Full description
Lean on any animal's chest and it will lean back. Push harder and it leans harder — the response is older than training and it is not a decision the dog is making. That reflex is the entire reason a lead ring on the front of a harness changes a walk and a lead ring on the back mostly does not.
This one has both. There is a lead ring on the chest and another on the back, so the same harness does the walks where the dog is pulling and the walks where it is not. On the top there is a close control handle, which is the bit you grab at a kerb or when something comes round a corner, and along it a reflective 3M Scotchlite strip for walking in the dark. There are five points of adjustment, which is what lets a harness sit where it should on a deep-chested or a narrow dog rather than roughly where it lands. The Small fits a chest circumference of 16-24 in / 43-60 cm. Halti also make it larger, and in black as well as red.

Chest circumference is the only measurement that decides this, and the Small covers 16-24 in / 43-60 cm; the larger size carries its own range on its own pack, so read that rather than assuming it simply starts where this one stops. Nothing supplied to us gives a strap width, a material or a washing instruction. And it is worth being honest about what a front clip is: it makes a pulling dog easier to walk today by turning them towards you, and it does not, on its own, teach a dog not to pull. That is still training.

What size dog does the Small fit?
Halti state a chest circumference of 16-24 in / 43-60 cm for the Small. Measure round the widest part of the chest, behind the front legs.
Where does the lead clip on?
There are two rings — one on the dog's chest and one on the back. The chest ring gives more control on a dog that pulls; the back ring is the everyday one.
How adjustable is it?
Five points of adjustment, which is what lets it fit a deep chest or a narrow one properly rather than approximately.
Is it any good in the dark?
It carries a reflective 3M Scotchlite strip, which is there to be picked up by headlights and torches.
Can a puppy wear one?
Halti say it is good for puppies too. Fit it by chest measurement and check it again as the puppy grows, because five points of adjustment only go so far.
