Choosing a design

• Cool Grey — Saying it plainly: a harness stops a dog hurting its throat, it does not stop a dog pulling. Plenty of people buy one hoping for the second. Breathable mesh in a grey that looks much the same in March as in October.
• Mauve — Very small dogs are hardest to buy walking kit for, because most ranges start at a size that swallows them. This runs XXS to XXL, so a chihuahua and a labrador in the same house can match. Mauve is the quietest colour here.
• Pastel Green — Do the arithmetic: a harness that lasts five years costs less per walk than one replaced every winter, which is the whole Red Dingo argument. Pastel green is closer to a soft sage than anything bright, and it will show mud.
• Red — Mesh spreads the load across the chest instead of a narrow strap, and this one runs from XX-Small up to XX-Large, so tiny dogs are covered. Red Dingo back it for five years.
• Squiggles Black — Mesh rather than padding, which is what you want on a warm day or a dog who overheats. The squiggle print on black hides mud better than anything else in the range. Measure chest girth behind the front legs before choosing.
• Turquoise — The size range is the reason to look here: XXS right through to XXL, which almost nothing else in the range manages. Mesh for a dog who overheats, turquoise because it shows against most coats. Five-year guarantee.
