Red Dingo Classic Dog H-Harness in ten colours, sizes XS to Large. Hard-wearing, comfortable and finished with solid hardware — and, like all Red Dingo gear, covered by their 5-year guarantee.

Choosing a colour

• Black — An H-harness takes the pull across the chest and behind the front legs instead of through the throat, which is the standard advice for lungers and flat-faced breeds. This one adjusts chest and girth independently, and getting both right stops it rotating sideways.
• Cool Grey — Most harnesses shout: lime, orange, a logo across the shoulder. Grey is the one for a dog who spends the evening under a pub table. It also disappears after dark, so add a reflective lead if you walk unlit roads.
• Dark Blue — Dark blue is the one to pick if you want the harness to disappear rather than announce itself, which suits a dog already wearing a bright collar. Same H build, off the throat, XS to Large, five-year guarantee.
• Green — Green is the one that disappears against grass and hedgerow, which is fine for a dog who never leaves your side and wrong for one who ranges. Pick it for looks, not for visibility. Same H build, five-year guarantee.
• Hot Pink — An H-harness keeps the strap off the throat, which is the point for a small dog who pulls or a flat-faced breed. Red Dingo guarantee the hardware for five years, and hardware is where cheap harnesses fail first.
• Lime Green — Fluorescent yellow-green is the colour the eye picks up fastest in poor light, which is why workwear settled on it. On a black dog against wet tarmac in January, that block of colour across the chest buys a driver seconds.
• Orange — Orange is the colour that holds up in flat grey light, against wet grass and bracken, which is most of a British winter afternoon. If your dog goes into cover off the lead, this is the one I would pick. XS to Large.
• Purple — Purple is the one that shows against grass, sand and a dark coat without going into hi-vis territory, which is a rare balance. The H shape keeps the strap off the windpipe. XS to Large, with the five-year guarantee on the hardware.
• Red — Plain red, no pattern, and the figure-of-eight layout has very few parts in it to go wrong. Red shows up better than black or navy on a dull day. Note we only hold this one in XS, Small and Large, with no Medium.
• Turquoise — The H shape puts the load across the chest and shoulders and leaves the windpipe alone, which matters on a small dog who still pulls. Four sizes from XS to Large, and the five-year cover runs on the hardware too.
