Red Dingo Design Dog H-Harness in 25 designs, sizes XS to Large. Hard-wearing, comfortable and finished with solid hardware — and, like all Red Dingo gear, covered by their 5-year guarantee.
Choosing a design
- Breezy Love Purple — A softer print for people who find the geometrics too sharp, and one of the few in the range that runs down to XS. The H shape underneath keeps the strap off the throat, which is the whole reason to buy this style.
- Bumble Bee Black — Black is the colour that vanishes soonest, and on a wet December pavement a dark harness on a dark dog gives a driver almost nothing. The yellow breaks it up, but mainly in daylight. What black is excellent at is hiding mud and salt.
- Bumble Bee Turquoise — Two adjustment points, which is what you want for a dog who falls between sizes. Two flat fingers under the girth strap and no more: looser twists round the dog, tighter wears a bald patch behind the elbow. No XS in this colourway.
- Camouflage Green — Green camouflage on a working dog looks right and is the worst possible choice if you ever need to find them in bracken. Buy it for the look, and add something bright to the collar. XS to Large, five-year guarantee.
- Camouflage Hot Pink — Camouflage in hot pink camouflages nothing, and that is exactly the appeal. Army webbing styling in a colour you can find across a field of long grass. Available in XS, which not all of the Red Dingo designs are.
- Daisy Chain Purple — The daisy chain print is the gentlest-looking thing in the Red Dingo range, and it hides on a light-coated dog rather than shouting. Underneath it is the same H build that keeps the strap off the throat. Small to large.
- Desert Paws Red — A few kilos of terrier throwing itself to the end of a lead puts all that force through a windpipe about the width of a finger. This is one of the few designs in XS. Send me the chest measurement.
- Fang it Red — A hundred grams sounds like nothing until you put it on a five-kilo dog, and then it decides whether the harness gets worn or lives in a drawer. This is light by any standard. Not a car restraint; that needs something crash-tested.
- Flamingo Cool Grey — Moving to a harness does not teach a dog to stop pulling, it changes where the force goes: across the chest and shoulders, which are built to take it, rather than the throat, which is not. That alone is reason enough.
- Flying Bones Red — Walking kit gets bought once and then used every day for years, through salt, rain, sand and the boot of a car. A five-year guarantee is a reasonable answer to that, and cheaper over time than replacing webbing every spring. Roughly 100g.
- Gingham Yellow — Buy it because it fits, not because of the guarantee, but the guarantee is why I stock the range: five years on something worn through mud, salt water and hedge. The gingham is a warmer, quieter yellow than the plain one.
- Horizontal Stripes Hot Pink — The H shape leaves the windpipe alone, which is the reason to choose this over a collar for a small dog who still pulls. Hot pink stripes give you something to spot in long grass. Small to large; no XS here.
- Horizontal Stripes Navy — Navy is what you choose when you are tired of kit that looks filthy by Tuesday, since it hides mud better than anything pale. The trade is real: on a black or dark brown dog at dusk, no amount of stripe makes it visible.
- Modern on Cool Grey — The quiet one in the range. Geometric print in tones close to the ground colour, so from a few metres it reads as a well-made grey harness. For owners who would otherwise default to plain black and be bored by it.
- Penguin Turquoise — Two independent adjustment points, one at the neck and one at the ribs, which is how you get a proper fit on an odd-shaped dog. Goes on over the head - introduce it slowly if yours dislikes that.
- Rainbow Red — An H-harness keeps pressure off the throat and the rainbow print stays readable at distance, which helps with a young dog whose recall is unfinished. Re-measure the chest every few weeks - a tight harness is easy to miss.
- Stars Lime on Hot Pink — Dogs who reverse out of a collar do it in one movement, usually at the worst moment: a firework, a bin lorry, another dog round a corner. A girth strap removes that escape route. Check the fit again after a few walks.
- Stars White on Cool Grey — Most harnesses that rub were bought from a guess at the dog's weight. Chest girth is the number that decides it: right round the ribcage, just behind the front legs, snug but not tight. Get that, then pick the pattern.
- Stars White on Red — Harnesses fail at the buckle, the D-ring or the stitching where the two meet, never in the webbing, which is why the parts worth paying for are the ones you barely look at. Rinse the fittings after a trip to the coast.
- Stars White on Turquoise — Turquoise holds up against grass, gravel and a dark coat, which is a rare combination in one colour. Only small and large reach us in this design, so the middle sizes are not an option. Same H build off the throat.
- Tropical Green — Handsome in daylight and it sits beautifully on tan and cream coats, but green against summer grass is one of the harder combinations to pick out. Keep this for the dog who stays on lead in town; take a brighter colourway for fields.
- Unicorn Purple — The one children pick, and a child who likes the kit is a child who helps with the walk. Underneath the print it is the standard H build that keeps the strap off the throat. Small to large, no XS in this design.
- Union Jack Flag on Red — There is a practical case for a loud harness: in a park full of similar dogs, a pattern nobody else has is how you find yours at fifty paces. This colourway comes in small to large - check before assuming XS.
- White Spots on Red — Worth knowing before you fall for it: this colourway only reaches us in XS, so it is a toy-breed harness. If that fits your dog, it is the same H build and the same five-year guarantee as the rest of the range.
- White Spots on Yellow — From October to March a lot of British walking happens in the half dark, and yellow holds its brightness under streetlight and cloud better than almost any other shade. That makes this the practical pick in the range rather than just the cheerful one.
