Size guide & how to measure
Harnesses are sized by the chest (girth) — the measurement around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.
How to measure
- Stand your dog up squarely.
- Wrap a soft tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
- Keep two fingers under the tape so the fit is snug, not tight.
- If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger one.
| Size | Typical chest / girth | Rough guide |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 28–40 cm | Toy breeds, very small dogs |
| S | 38–53 cm | Small dogs (e.g. Dachshund, Yorkie) |
| M | 50–68 cm | Medium dogs (e.g. Cocker Spaniel, Beagle) |
| L | 65–85 cm | Large dogs (e.g. Labrador, Boxer) |
| XL | 82–105 cm | Giant breeds (e.g. German Shepherd, Rottweiler) |
Ranges are approximate and vary by style. Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact measurements.
Full description
A collar puts a dog's whole pulling weight through its neck, right across the trachea, which is really the entire argument for a harness that moves the load somewhere else instead.
The Anatomy Harness spreads that load across neoprene padding on the chest and back, with a neoprene flex triangle at the base of the back pad, built onto a webbing frame with scalloped pads for even pressure. Three lead attachments sit on it: a front ring for control, and two on the back for ordinary walking, running or hiking, and Halti's design is meant to leave the dog's shoulders free to move rather than restricted across the front.
- Neoprene padding on the chest and back, with a flex triangle at the base of the back pad
- Three lead attachments: one front, two rear
- 360-degree reflective detailing for low light
- Built-in grab handle for steadying a dog
- Hand-wash with a mild detergent and air dry only
- Two colourways: green and grey
On sizing and care. Halti size this by measuring the dog's neck and chest against their own harness chart rather than by weight or breed, and no cm measurements are given as page text here, so check that chart before ordering. It's hand-wash only too — Halti specifically say not to machine wash it, which matters if you were planning to bung it in with the rest of the muddy-walk laundry.
Who it's for: owners of dogs that pull on the lead and want the load moved off the neck, particularly anyone who wants both a front ring for training and a back ring for everyday walks on the same harness.

Why we chose it
Three lead attachments is the reason we stock this over a plainer harness, because it does loose-lead training off the front ring and ordinary walking off the back without swapping equipment. The built-in grab handle is the other seller, since steadying a dog near a road with a proper handle beats grabbing at a collar.
