Halti discount code

There's no Halti discount code running at Giddy Pets, and we'd rather say that plainly than string you along with a search result. What we can offer instead is a straightforward look at the Halti range, head collars, harnesses and leads, and some help working out which one actually suits your dog, since the three product types do quite different jobs.

The three Halti product types

A Halti head collar fits over the dog's nose and behind the ears, working on the same principle as a headcollar on a horse, where the head goes, the body tends to follow, which can reduce pulling for dogs who lean hard into a flat collar. A Halti harness instead clips at the chest, redirecting pulling pressure away from the neck without going near the head at all. Halti also makes leads and training leads designed to pair with either.

Which one suits your dog depends on what you're trying to solve. A head collar tends to give the most control over a strong puller, but some dogs need a gradual, positive introduction to wearing one before they're comfortable. A harness is generally the easier starting point and suits dogs who pull but don't need quite that level of control.

Introducing a head collar properly

A Halti head collar works best when it's introduced gradually rather than put straight onto a dog for a full walk. Letting your dog get used to wearing it around the house for short periods first, with plenty of reward, tends to get a far better result than fitting it and heading straight out the door.

Fit matters too, a head collar that's loose enough to slip forward over the nose, or tight enough to rub, will put a dog off wearing one regardless of how gradually you introduce it, so check the sizing guide against your dog's actual measurements rather than guessing from their breed alone.

Common questions

Does Halti offer discount codes?
Not through Giddy Pets. We stock the Halti range at our usual prices and haven't seen a working discount code for it, so we'd rather be upfront about that than send you searching further.
Is a Halti head collar or harness better for pulling?
A head collar generally gives more control over a strong puller, since guiding the head tends to guide the body. A harness is a gentler option that many owners find sufficient for a dog that pulls but doesn't need that level of control.
How long does it take a dog to get used to a Halti?
It varies by dog, but a gradual introduction over several short sessions at home, before using it on a full walk, generally goes better than fitting it and heading straight out. Some dogs adjust within days, others take longer.
What size Halti do I need for my dog?
Halti products are sized by measurement rather than breed alone, so it's worth measuring your dog against the sizing guide for the specific product rather than assuming a size based on their breed or weight.
