A senior dog's needs shift gradually enough that it's easy to keep feeding an adult recipe well past the point it stopped being the right one. Eukanuba pitch this recipe specifically at medium breeds from age 10, rather than at "senior" as a single catch-all bracket across every size.

Dried chicken and turkey make up 26% of the recipe (18% of that chicken), with fresh chicken adding a further 17%, alongside maize, wheat, oats, rice and barley for carbohydrate. L-carnitine is included to support weight management, which matters for an older dog naturally doing less.

• Formulated specifically for medium-breed senior dogs, aged 10 years and over
• Protein 28%, fat content 15%, crude ash 6.3%, crude fibre 1.9%
• Calcium 1.3%, phosphorus 1.1%, omega-6 2.51%, omega-3 0.28%
• Dried chicken and turkey 26% (including chicken 18%), plus fresh chicken 17%
• L-carnitine included to support weight management in a less active dog
• 12KG bag

One thing worth knowing. This card also carries a "puppy" tag alongside "senior" in its life-stage data, which does not match a product clearly aimed at dogs aged 10 and over — we're not repeating that puppy association here, since nothing else on the card supports feeding this to a growing dog.

Who it's for: owners of a medium-breed dog aged 10 or over who want a food matched to that specific bracket rather than a general "senior" formula that could mean anything from 7 to 15.
