A weight loss diet that leaves a dog hungry all day rarely lasts, which is the actual problem a lower-calorie, higher-fibre recipe is trying to solve — not just cutting fat, but keeping a dog feeling like it's eaten enough to stop asking.

This recipe is built on oats at 55%, brown rice at 18% and dried chicken at 17%, with peas, chicken oil and seaweed at 0.5% making up the rest. It was developed by Veterinary Surgeon John Burns, and Burns describe the oat content specifically as helping dogs feel fuller for longer. Protein is 18.5%, fat 7.5%, fibre 7.5%, ash 6.5%, with calcium at 1% and phosphorus at 0.7%. A feeding guide by body weight is given on the official product page rather than on this listing.

• Protein 18.5%, fat 7.5%, fibre 7.5%, ash 6.5%
• Oats 55%, brown rice 18%, dried chicken 17%
• Calcium 1%, phosphorus 0.7%
• Formulated for adult to senior weight-control dogs
• 6KG bag

On the feeding guide. This listing doesn't carry the actual gram amounts by body weight — Burns direct owners to their official product page for the feeding guide rather than printing it here. Don't guess a daily amount from the bag size; check the manufacturer's chart before starting a dog on a weight-control diet.

Who it's for: adult to senior dogs that need to lose weight or stay lean, where fibre and fullness matter as much as simply cutting fat.
