Small dogs lose teeth to dental disease far more often than large breeds do, which is why a kibble aimed at them tends to lead with something for the mouth rather than the bowl.

This recipe is 40% chicken — 29% dried chicken, 10% freshly prepared chicken and 1% chicken gravy — built out with potato, sugar beet, chicken oil, whole peas, sweet potato, dried carrot and parsnip, and whole linseed. Chicory root extract is included as a source of prebiotic FOS, and citrus extract is added specifically to support dental health, alongside mannan-oligosaccharides for gut function.

• Chicken 40% (29% dried, 10% freshly prepared, 1% chicken gravy)
• Protein 27%, fat 13%, fibre 3%, ash 8%
• Citrus extract added to support dental health
• Chicory root extract (0.3%) as a prebiotic source
• Formulated for small breed adult dogs, including seniors
• Sold in a 2KG bag

On the feeding guide. Vitalin's own daily amounts only spell out the smallest part of the range explicitly — 30-50g for a 1-2kg dog, 50-85g for 2-4kg — so if your dog sits toward the top of "small breed" you're judging between bands rather than reading an exact figure off the bag.

Who it's for: owners of small adult dogs, including seniors, who want a chicken kibble that builds a dental angle into the recipe rather than selling it as a separate chew.
