James Wellbeloved's senior wet food, twelve tins across three recipes, built on the hypoallergenic principle the brand is known for: no beef, no pork, no soya, no egg, no dairy and no wheat.

The single-meat recipes are 45% chicken or 45% turkey, which is high for a wet food at this price. The lamb and chicken recipe splits it 26% chicken and 14% lamb. The rest is short and recognisable: rice at 4%, carrots at 3.5%, then peas, beet pulp, linseed oil, alfalfa and seaweed all under 1%. No additives are stated at all.

Can I mix it with dry food?

Yes, and James Wellbeloved give the arithmetic: reduce the dry allowance by 21 to 29g for every 100g of wet fed.

Is it really grain free?

There is rice at 4% in every recipe, which is a grain botanically but is excluded from the gluten grains the brand's hypoallergenic claim is about. The pack is sold as grain free; if you are avoiding all cereals, the rice is there.

Which meats are in the pack?

Chicken, turkey, and a lamb and chicken recipe. There is no beef, pork, soya, egg, dairy or wheat in any of them.
