Specifications

Brand: Guru Pet Company

Full description

A soft toy with only one thing to do is usually finished the moment a dog has worked out how to do it once, which is the case for a plain single-squeak plush.

Loveys Monkey gets around that by being two toys in one: a medium plush monkey with a pair of removable, Velcro-fastened squeaker toys built into it, made from two layers of fabric so it holds up to more than a single afternoon of play.

Monkey design

On what we do not know: Guru Pet Company don't publish a weight limit, a wash instruction, or the exact outer fabric for this toy, so it's worth treating as a supervised play toy rather than one left with a determined chewer - once the Velcro parts come away repeatedly, a small squeaker becomes a swallowing risk.

Who it's for: dogs that like to work at a toy, pulling pieces free rather than just carrying it, and owners who want one plush that offers two different squeaks instead of the usual one.

Why we chose it

Two squeakers you can pull apart and swap keeps a dog interested for longer than a single-squeak plush, which is the difference that earns it a place next to cheaper toys on the shelf. It's a straightforward pick for a dog that gets through soft toys fast.
