A dog that reacts badly to wheat, gluten or dairy usually only finds out by elimination — one food ruled out, another kept, until the list of what's actually safe gets clearer. Foods aimed at that dog are built around avoidance first and everything else second.

Burns pitch this recipe specifically at dogs with those intolerances, and the composition backs it up on the grain side: potato is the largest single ingredient at 46%, ahead of buckwheat at 27% and dried turkey at 20%. It's formulated to control fat and protein rather than maximise them, which is the general Burns approach to sensitive diets.

• Potato 46%, buckwheat 27%, dried turkey 20%
• Protein 20%, fat 8%, fibre 2%, crude ash 7%
• Calcium 1.2%, phosphorus 0.85%
• Omega-6 2.21%, omega-3 0.22%
• Grain free; formulated for wheat, gluten, grain or dairy intolerances
• For adult and senior dogs

On the ingredient order. Potato leads the recipe at 46%, ahead of the turkey named on the front of the bag at 20% — worth knowing if you were picking this out expecting a high-meat diet rather than an intolerance-led one built around control.

Who it's for: adult and senior dogs already flagged as reacting to wheat, gluten or dairy, where a controlled formula matters more than a high-protein one.
