Puppy-food labels need to make two things easy to find: whether the recipe is complete and what sits behind the named flavour. This bag supplies both, although one classification field points in the wrong direction.

Burgess Supadog Puppy Chicken is complete dry dog food in a 12.5KG bag. Poultry meal accounts for 17%, including chicken at 15%, with wholegrain wheat listed first. The recipe also contains wholegrain maize, fish meal, dried beet pulp, poultry gravy, poultry fat, maize gluten meal, dried egg, whole linseed, minerals, yeast and wheat feed. Its analysis is crude protein 29%, crude fat 14%, crude fibre 3%, crude ash 9% and calcium 2%.

Chicken is not the first ingredient. Wholegrain wheat leads the composition, with poultry meal at 17%, including chicken at 15%; fish meal and dried egg are also present. Burgess says to introduce the food gradually over 7-10 days and always provide fresh, clean water, but no serving quantity is included in the supplied guidance.

Who it's for: puppy owners seeking a complete chicken dry food in a 12.5KG bag and wanting the wheat-led composition and declared chicken content visible before purchase.
