Xh Pet

Xh Pet covers two quite different things under one name in our range: dog toys — plush and rope pieces built for tugging and carrying — and dog clothing, mostly knitted jumpers and coats for smaller or short-coated dogs. It's a broad little range rather than a single specialism.

The toy side of the range

Toys like the Xh Pet Lamb Chop R Deer and the Xh/pet Sonic Hedgehog, available in a couple of sizes, are soft plush designs built more for carrying, tugging and comfort than for heavy-duty chewing. They suit a dog that likes to carry a favourite toy around the house or settle down with one rather than a determined destroyer that gets through anything soft within minutes.

As with any plush toy, keep an eye on stitching and any squeakers inside, and retire a toy once seams start to give — that's true of soft toys generally rather than anything specific to this range.

The clothing side

The Xh Pet Grandad Sweater represents the clothing end of the range — a knitted jumper style aimed at smaller and short-coated dogs that feel the cold more than a thick-coated breed. It's a casual, everyday jumper rather than a technical waterproof coat, so it suits indoor warmth and short winter walks rather than standing up to heavy rain.

Size against your dog's actual measurements rather than their breed name where a size chart is given, since jumper fit varies more between individual dogs of the same breed than most owners expect, particularly around the chest and neck.

Because it's a knit rather than a technical fabric, it's also worth checking it for wear a little more often than you would a waterproof coat, since loose threads and small holes can appear at the seams with regular use and washing over a season.

Common questions

Are Xh Pet toys durable enough for strong chewers?
The toys are mostly soft plush and rope designs, built more for carrying and tugging than for withstanding a determined chewer. For a dog that destroys soft toys quickly, supervise play and choose a tougher, rubber-based toy from elsewhere in the range for unsupervised chewing instead.
Is the Xh Pet jumper warm enough for outdoor walks?
A knitted jumper like the Grandad Sweater adds warmth for indoor comfort and short walks in mild cold, but it isn't a waterproof or heavily insulated coat for wet or very cold conditions. Pair it with a proper waterproof coat over the top for longer walks in poor weather.
How do I choose the right size in the Xh Pet clothing range?
Measure your dog's neck, chest and back length and check them against the specific size chart for the item, rather than relying on their general breed size, since fit varies between individual dogs. Sizing up slightly is usually safer than sizing down if your dog falls between two sizes.
Can I wash the Xh Pet jumper in a normal washing machine?
Check the care label on the specific item first, since knitwear often needs a cooler, gentler wash than everyday clothing to stop it shrinking or losing shape. Air drying rather than tumble drying generally keeps a knitted jumper in better condition over repeated washes.
