The frozen raw range

Cotswold Raw's Active Mince comes in beef, chicken, lamb, turkey and a beef tripe blend, sold frozen and defrosted before feeding, alongside a Puppy Mince Chicken formulated for growing dogs and Wild Mince blends pairing venison or rabbit with duck for a different protein source. Lamb and Tripe and Lamb Spaghetti sit slightly apart from the straight mince range as complete meals in their own right.

Raw feeding requires proper handling — thorough defrosting, hygienic preparation, and the same food safety care you'd apply to raw meat for yourself — and it's worth reading up on safe raw feeding practice before switching, since it's a genuinely different routine from feeding a dry or wet complete food straight from the bag.

Treats and natural chews

Alongside the raw meals, Cotswold Raw make single-ingredient treats and chews — British Chicken Strips, Duck Strips, Beef Tails, Beef Tendon, Rabbit Ears Without Fur — which suit an owner who wants a treat with one recognisable ingredient rather than a manufactured biscuit.

Introduce any of these gradually the same as you would a new treat, and supervise a dog with a natural chew the way you would with any long-lasting one — pieces that have worn down small enough to swallow should be taken away.

Is raw feeding right for your dog?

Raw feeding suits owners prepared to handle frozen meat safely, store it properly, and feed a balanced range of proteins and meals rather than mince alone — a diet of straight mince without organ meat, bone content or a complete blend isn't nutritionally balanced on its own over time.

If your dog has a known health condition, is very young, or you're new to raw feeding altogether, it's worth discussing the switch with your vet first, since raw diets aren't the right fit for every dog or every household.
