Full description

A windpipe is mostly cartilage with a little soft bone running through it, which is what makes trachea a softer, easier chew than a tougher cut from the same animal.

Cotswold's Beef Trachea is 100% beef, air-dried, and the maker confirms it contains soft bone. It's gluten-free with no additives. The analysis is protein 60%, fat 27%, ash 4%, fibre 2%, moisture 8% — notably richer in fat than some of Cotswold's other single-ingredient chews.

100% beef, contains soft bone
Protein 60%, fat 27%
Ash 4%, fibre 2%, moisture 8%
Air-dried, no additives
Gluten-free
150g pack

Worth knowing before buying. This chew contains soft bone, so the usual supervision that applies to any bone-containing chew still applies here, even though it's softer than a harder cut. At 27% fat it's also noticeably richer than some other air-dried chews on this shelf, worth bearing in mind for a dog watching its weight.

Who it's for: owners of a dog that struggles with tougher chews, wanting something softer that still contains real bone and cartilage, rather than a dog on a strict low-fat diet.

Cotswold Beef Trachea

Why we chose it

A softer chew that still contains real bone is a useful middle option for a dog that can't manage a tougher cut but still needs something to work at. The fat figure is honestly higher here, and that's worth saying plainly rather than treating every air-dried chew on the shelf as interchangeable.
