A treat sized right for a small dog and one sized right for a large dog are not really the same product, which is why Pedigree band the daily amount by weight rather than giving a single stick count for every dog.

These are meat-variety treat sticks, 20 to a pack, made from meat and animal derivatives at a total of 40% — comprising poultry (11%), beef (22%) and lamb (5%) — alongside vegetable derivatives, cereals, minerals, sugars and oils and fats. Pedigree say each stick is under 30 kcal, with the pack's own feeding guide banded by the dog's weight.

• 20 treat sticks per pack
• Meat and animal derivatives, total 40% (poultry 11%, beef 22%, lamb 5%)
• Crude protein 25%, fat 8.5%, fibre 2.5%
• Under 30 kcal per treat, per Pedigree
• Feeding guide: up to 1 stick (5-9kg dogs), 2 (10-24kg), 4 (25kg+)

On the meat content. The label's three named meats — poultry, beef and lamb — do not individually add up to the stated total of 40% meat and animal derivatives, so a small remainder of that 40% is unspecified meat and animal derivative. It is a treat rather than a complete food, and Pedigree's own guide bands the daily amount by the dog's weight rather than giving one number for every dog.

Who it's for: owners using treat sticks for training or reward across dogs of different sizes, who want a weight-banded guide rather than guessing a portion.
