A small dog eats a smaller volume of food across its whole life, which changes the maths on ingredient quality slightly — the same bag lasts longer, so a single-protein hypoallergenic recipe is a more affordable long-term choice for a small breed than it would be for something twice the size.

Lamb meal at 26% is the sole animal protein, with white and brown rice for carbohydrate, whole linseed and sugar beet pulp for fibre, and green tea extract among the antioxidants. It excludes beef, pork, soya, eggs, dairy and wheat, the same allergen list James Wellbeloved apply across the range.

• Single animal protein: lamb meal (26%)
• Protein 25.1%, fat content 13.8%, crude ash 9.6%, crude fibre 3.2%
• Omega-3 1.2%, omega-6 2.6%, energy 361 kcal/100g
• Excludes beef, pork, soya, eggs, dairy and wheat
• Formulated for small-breed adult dogs
• 1.5KG bag

What the label does not say. No specific feeding table by dog weight is given on this card, only that it's formulated for small breeds — use the guide printed on the bag for your dog's actual weight rather than estimating from the protein figure alone.

Who it's for: owners of a small-breed adult dog with a suspected or confirmed food sensitivity, or anyone wanting to simplify a small dog's diet to a single named protein.
