Full description

Older dogs can need a different comparison from younger adults, and the fat figure often deserves as much attention as the protein name.

Harringtons Senior Dog Chicken is complete dry food in a 1.7KG bag, positioned for senior dogs aged 7 years and above. Chicken and meat meals are 26%, with 6.5% dried chicken and 4% freshly prepared chicken. The recipe also includes 14% rice, 4% oats, 1% salmon oil, 0.05% glucosamine and 0.01% chondroitin. The analysis lists 20.5% protein, 7.5% fat, 3.5% crude fibre and 8.5% crude ash.

Complete dry dog food
Senior positioning: 7 years and above
Fat content: 7.5%
Glucosamine: 0.05%

The age wording needs a careful read. The product is positioned for senior dogs aged 7 years and above, while the general feeding paragraph calls it complete for dogs aged 8 weeks onwards. The omega 6 entry is also rendered as 6,1%, so that figure is omitted until the pack can settle it.

Who it's for: owners comparing complete senior chicken foods who value the 7.5% fat figure and will check the current pack where the age wording matters.

Harringtons Senior Dog Chicken

Why we chose it

The 7.5% fat declaration is the clearest reason to compare this with another senior food. I have kept the conflicting age wording and unusual omega entry visible instead of smoothing them over.
