A dog left with a plain ball loses interest faster than one given something to work at, which is the whole case for a treat-carrying toy over a solid one.

This is the medium size in Guru's Challenger line, listed as a complementary food carrier rather than a food in itself — it is built around a treat rather than being one. The makers supply the category and the size but nothing further on the material, dimensions or how the treat sits inside it, so the detail on construction is thinner than we would like on this one.

• Medium size
• Guru Challenger range
• Categorised as a dog treat toy
• Designed to hold or dispense a treat rather than be eaten itself

The gap in this data sheet. the makers give us the name, the size and the category, and nothing else — no material, no dimensions and no cleaning instructions have been supplied, so anyone who needs those details should check the listing photos or ask before buying.

Who it's for: owners who want an interactive toy to slow a dog down or keep it occupied, rather than a plain fetch toy with no extra function.
