Pet coats and jumpers are sized mainly by back length, with chest girth as a second check. Back length matters most for coverage.

How to measure

Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.
Chest: measure around the widest part of the ribcage, behind the front legs.
If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose by back length and allow for the chest.

Ancol's Stormguard Softshell is a waterproof shell with a chest protector to help keep dogs clean and dry, an elasticated neck and leg straps for a snugger fit, reflective edging for visibility, and a slot cut for a harness and lead attachment. It's machine washable at 30°C, and Ancol size it from XS through to XXL — XS at 25cm length with a 23-42cm girth, up to XXL at 70cm length with a 58-96cm girth.
