Replacement collars and add-ons
Read the product description carefully: some of these are complete collars with a buckle and a D-ring for the lead, and others are decorative bands or charms that need an existing collar to attach to. Both are useful, but only one can take a lead.
Charms and chewing
Hanging charms — pumpkins, bats, small bells — are the part to watch. They are fine on a dog who ignores them and a genuine risk with a dog who can reach round and chew, or with a second dog in the house who will do it for them.

Common questions
Can I attach a lead to these?
Only to the ones that are proper collars with a welded D-ring. Decorative bands and charm attachments are not load-bearing and must never be used as an attachment point — keep your normal collar or harness for the lead.
How tight should a dog collar be?
You should be able to slide two fingers flat between the collar and your dog’s neck. Check it again after any coat change, and weekly on a growing puppy.
Will it survive the rain?
The woven and fabric designs are seasonal decoration rather than all-weather kit. If your dog swims or you walk in heavy rain daily, keep your usual collar for walks and save these for the house and photographs.
