- Wrap a soft tape around the base of the neck.
- Add room for two fingers between the tape and the neck.
- Use that measurement to pick a size whose range it falls within.

Hand-crocheted pieces have a texture that printed polyester never gets near, and in a photograph that difference shows. The stitches catch the light and the pumpkin reads as an object rather than a picture of one. This one fastens around the neck as an adjustable collar and comes with or without a bell, in four sizes from small through to extra large.
The choice between the bell and the silent version deserves a moment's thought. A bell gives a cat's prey some warning and tells you roughly where she is, which is why plenty of owners fit one. A proportion of cats, though, find the constant sound stressful, and a cat who has never worn one may take days to settle with it. The silent version exists for exactly that reason, and if you are unsure it is the safer choice.
