Harkers pigeon supplies
Harkers is a long-established name among pigeon keepers, best known for loft hygiene treatments and conditioning feeds rather than anything aimed at cats or dogs. If you keep racing or fancy pigeons, this is a brand you'll likely already recognise from the loft rather than the pet shop shelf.
Who Harkers are
Harkers sits in the pigeon-fancying corner of the market, a niche most general pet shops don't touch at all. Their range covers loft hygiene and bird conditioning rather than food in the everyday sense, which is why you won't find them next to the dog biscuits, and why a lot of people outside the hobby have never heard the name.
We stock four lines from the range: two soluble water treatments (their 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 formulas, used loft-wide against canker, coccidiosis and worms), a dry powder loft disinfectant sprinkled around nesting areas, and Hormoform, a supplementary feed developed back in 1954 to support fertility and racing condition. All four are the kind of thing a pigeon keeper buys routinely rather than once.
Who it suits
This range is for people who keep pigeons, whether racing, showing or simply as fanciers, and who already understand loft management. It isn't written for a first-time keeper working out the basics, and we'd say the same as any responsible seller: if you're new to keeping pigeons, get advice from an experienced fancier or your vet before using any loft treatment for the first time.
We don't give dosing instructions here, and we won't — that's on the product's own packaging and is not something to guess at. What we can say is which four products we carry and what each one is broadly for, so you know what you're looking at before you order.

Common questions
- What does a loft treatment actually do?
- Harkers' soluble treatments are added to the water supply and used across the whole loft rather than bird by bird, targeting common loft problems like canker, coccidiosis and worms. Always follow the dosing and timing on the pack rather than any general guide, and speak to an experienced fancier or a vet if you're at all unsure.
- Is Harkers Loft Treatment a disinfectant?
- Yes. It's a dry powder sprinkled around nesting areas as part of routine loft hygiene, rather than something given to the birds directly. Regular loft cleaning is a normal part of keeping pigeons healthy alongside any water treatments.
- What is Hormoform for?
- It's a supplementary feed, not a medicine, developed originally in 1954 and still sold today to support fertility and general racing condition in pigeons. It's fed alongside a normal diet rather than replacing one.
- Do you stock the full Harkers range?
- No, we carry a selection of four Harkers products rather than everything the brand makes. What's shown on this page is what we currently have available to order, and that can change as stock does.
- Can Harkers products be used on any pigeon?
- General loft hygiene, like the powder treatment, is standard practice across a healthy loft. Anything given to individual birds, including the soluble treatments and Hormoform, should follow the guidance on the pack and take account of young, sick or breeding birds, which often need a different approach from the rest of the loft.
