Go-Cat recalls: what to do if you're concerned

We're not aware of any current recall notice affecting the Go-Cat products we sell. If a specific pack has you genuinely concerned, here's what a real recall notice actually looks like in practice, and how to check a pack you already own.

What a genuine recall notice looks like

A real product recall names specific batch codes and best-before dates, is published directly by the manufacturer, and is picked up by consumer and news outlets — it's public and specific, not a vague rumour about a brand as a whole.

Go-Cat is made by Purina, and any genuine safety notice for the brand would come from them directly rather than from a general search result, which can easily surface old news about a different product or a different country's market.

Checking a pack you already own

Find the batch code printed on the packaging and check it against any published recall notice, or contact Purina's customer care team directly with that code. This is far more reliable than trying to judge from the flavour or product name alone, since recalls are almost always tied to a specific batch rather than an entire range.

If your cat has shown any signs of illness after eating a specific food, speak to your vet, and keep the pack and batch code in case it's needed.

What we stock from Go-Cat

Our range includes a selection of Go-Cat dry food, covering kitten, adult and senior recipes, shown in the grid below. What's listed reflects what we currently have available to order.

As with any cat food, the right choice depends on your cat's current life stage and any known sensitivities rather than the brand name alone, so check the recipe details on the specific product rather than assuming any Go-Cat bag will suit any cat.

If you're switching from another brand

Introduce any new dry food gradually over about a week, mixing in increasing amounts alongside what your cat is already eating, rather than swapping the whole bowl over in one go, which gives their digestion time to adjust properly.

Watch your cat's stools and appetite during that week, and slow the transition down further if you notice any loose stools, rather than pushing straight through to a full bowl of the new food regardless.

Common questions

Is there a current Go-Cat recall?
We're not aware of one affecting the products we sell. If you're concerned about a specific pack, check the batch code against Purina's published recall notices or contact them directly, rather than relying on a general search.
How do I check if my Go-Cat food is affected by a recall?
Locate the batch code on the packaging and check it against the manufacturer's own published notices, or contact their customer care team with that code. A genuine recall always names specific batches rather than an entire product line.
What should I do if my cat is unwell after eating Go-Cat?
Speak to your vet, and keep the pack including the batch code in case it's needed. This applies regardless of whether a recall is confirmed, since your cat's health comes first.
Does Giddy Pets stock every Go-Cat product?
No, we stock a selection covering kitten, adult and senior dry food recipes rather than the entire range. What's shown in the grid above is what's currently available to order.
