A kitten's stomach is small and its needs change fast in the first year, which is why a kitten food lives or dies on how well its feeding guide tracks age rather than just weight.

This recipe is built on cereals and meat and animal derivatives, with 2% chicken and 2% turkey specifically inside Y-shaped kibbles, alongside fish and fish derivatives and 0.8% dehydrated vegetables (equivalent to 4% rehydrated) in their own Y-shaped kibbles, plus a small proportion of milk and milk derivatives. Protein sits at 35%, fat at 12%, ash at 8% and fibre at 2%, with taurine and a full vitamin and mineral pack added. GO-CAT's feeding guide runs by age: 25-85g daily split across 2-3 meals for a kitten aged 6-12 weeks, 50-110g for 3-6 months, and 60-110g for 6-12 months, and it's also suitable for pregnant or nursing cats, with higher minimums for both.

• Protein 35%, fat 12%, ash 8%, crude fibre 2%
• 2% chicken and 2% turkey in Y-shaped kibbles
• 0.8% dehydrated vegetables (4% rehydrated) in separate Y-shaped kibbles
• Feeding guide by age band, from 6 weeks to 12 months
• Suitable for pregnant and nursing cats, with separate minimum amounts
• 750G bag

What the label does not say. The named chicken and turkey together make up 2% each of the recipe — most of the animal protein again comes from unspecified "meat and animal derivatives" and fish derivatives, so the named meats are a small, specific slice rather than the bulk of what's in the bag.

Who it's for: owners of kittens from 6 weeks through to 12 months, or a pregnant or nursing cat, who want one bag with an age-banded feeding guide covering the whole period rather than switching foods every few weeks.
