A cat food named for its meat content sets an expectation the ingredient panel doesn't always meet, and the honest way to check is to read past the flavour name to the composition percentage underneath it.

This dry food is built on cereals, meat and animal derivatives, vegetable protein extracts, oils and fats and vegetable derivatives, with meat and animal derivatives making up 20% of the recipe overall — of which 3% is chicken and 1% duck, shaped into distinct kibble pieces. It analyses at 30% protein, 11% fat, 7.5% crude ash and 3% crude fibre, with added vitamins and minerals including taurine.

On the name. Chicken and Duck names the flavour, not the recipe: meat and animal derivatives make up 20% of the food in total, and within that only 3% is specifically chicken and 1% duck — the rest of that 20% is unspecified animal derivative, and cereals come before any of it on the ingredient list.

Who it's for: owners feeding a multi-cat household or a single cat over the long term, where a 10kg bag is genuinely economical to buy — and who aren't relying on the flavour name as a guide to how much named meat is in the bowl.
