Pedigree dog food recalls: what to do if you're concerned
We're not aware of any current recall notice affecting the Pedigree products we sell. If you're checking a specific pack because you've seen something online, here's how genuine manufacturer recalls actually work, and where to look for a reliable answer rather than a rumour.
If you're checking a specific pack
Every recall is tied to a specific batch code, printed on the pack itself, not to a product name or flavour as a whole. If you're worried about food you already own, the batch code is what a manufacturer's customer care team will ask for, so have the pack to hand rather than relying on memory.
Pedigree is made by Mars Petcare, and genuine recall notices are published directly by the manufacturer and picked up by consumer and news outlets — they aren't quiet or hard to find if one is genuinely in effect.
What actually happens when there is a genuine recall
A real product recall is announced publicly, names the specific batch codes and best-before dates affected, and tells owners what to do — usually to stop feeding it and contact the manufacturer for a refund or replacement. Retailers are notified to pull the affected stock from sale.
If you're ever unsure whether something you've bought is affected, the manufacturer's own customer service line, using the batch code from the pack, is the most reliable source — more reliable than a general search, which can surface old news from a different recall in a different country.
What we stock from Pedigree
Our range includes a selection of Pedigree wet and dry complete foods and treats, shown in the grid below. What's listed is what's currently available to order, and that changes as stock does.
Picking a specific product from that range comes down to your dog's life stage and format preference — wet, dry or treats — rather than the brand name settling it for you, the same as with any dog food you're choosing between.
Keeping your own peace of mind
If checking a batch code still leaves you unsure, contacting the manufacturer directly is always a better use of time than searching further online, since they hold the definitive answer for any given pack.
Keep proof of purchase where you can, such as an order confirmation or receipt, since a manufacturer may ask for this alongside the batch code if a genuine issue with a specific product is ever confirmed.

Common questions
- Is there a current Pedigree dog food recall?
- We're not aware of one affecting the products we sell. If you're concerned about a specific pack, check the batch code against the manufacturer's own recall notices or contact their customer care line directly, rather than relying on a general search result.
- How do I check if my Pedigree food is affected by a recall?
- Find the batch code printed on the pack and contact the manufacturer directly, or check their published recall notices. A genuine recall always names specific batch codes rather than an entire product line.
- What should I do if I think my dog's food has been recalled?
- Stop feeding it, keep the pack including the batch code, and contact the manufacturer for guidance. If your dog has shown any signs of illness, speak to your vet as well.
- Does Giddy Pets stock the whole Pedigree range?
- No, we stock a selection rather than every product Pedigree makes. What's shown in the grid above is what we currently have available to order.
