Frozen raw cat food
Our frozen raw range for cats is a small one — three complete recipes, in chicken, beef and lamb, each sold as a 500g pack. Unlike a lot of raw dog food, these are labelled complete rather than complementary, so a recipe here can make up your cat's whole meal rather than needing anything added to it.
What's in each recipe
The chicken recipe is built around 80% chicken and bone, the beef recipe uses 60% beef heart, and the lamb recipe blends lamb with chicken. All three come in 500g packs and are labelled complete, meaning they are formulated to cover what a cat needs from a meal rather than being one part of a larger diet you build yourself.
Bone content in the chicken recipe is there deliberately — it is part of what makes a raw recipe nutritionally complete rather than just meat, and it is a normal, expected ingredient in a properly formulated raw cat food rather than something to be concerned about.
Why some owners choose raw
Some owners choose raw for the shorter ingredient list and the ability to see exactly what is in the pack, rather than reading a long list of processed additions on a tin. It is a genuine dietary choice rather than one with an agreed advantage over a good wet or dry diet, and either can suit a healthy adult cat well.
What matters more than the format is whether your particular cat does well on it — settled stools, a good coat and steady weight are the practical signs to watch for with any diet, raw included, rather than assuming raw is automatically better because it is less processed.
Handling and storage
Keep these frozen until you need them and thaw a pack in the fridge rather than at room temperature, the same as you would with any raw meat. Once thawed, use it within a day or two rather than refreezing it, and wash bowls and surfaces after every raw meal.
If you are feeding more than one cat from a single 500g pack, portion it out before it fully thaws so you are not handling more raw meat than you need to at any one time.
Is raw suitable for every cat?
Not automatically. Kittens, older cats, and cats with an existing health condition can have different needs, and switching an unwell or very young cat onto a new format is a conversation worth having with your vet first rather than assuming any complete recipe will suit.
For a healthy adult cat with no known issues, introducing a new format gradually — a little raw alongside their usual food to start with — is the more cautious way to see how they take to it before switching over fully.

- How do I thaw it safely?
