Full description

A puppy's brain does most of its growing before most owners have worked out a feeding routine, which is why the early months of a diet matter more than they get credit for. Wagg built Complete Puppy around that window specifically.

The recipe is led by meat meal and gravy at 30% (with a minimum of 4% chicken), alongside whole grain wheat, maize, vegetable fibre and maize protein, with 3% chicken fat as a source of Omega 6 and salmon oil for Omega 3. Chicory root is included at 1000mg/kg as a source of FOS, alongside yucca at 150mg/kg.

Meat meal & gravy 30% (min. 4% chicken)
Protein 28%, fat content 11%, crude fibre 3%, crude ash 8.5%
Omega 3 at 0.7%, Omega 6 at 1.9%
Salmon oil included as a source of Omega 3
2kg or 12kg bag
Chicory root (1000mg/kg) as a source of FOS

On the ingredients. This isn't a grain-free recipe — whole grain wheat and maize both appear in the composition — so if you're specifically looking for a grain-free puppy food, this isn't it, whatever else it offers.

Who it's for: owners of a puppy who want an everyday complete food with added fish oils, in a bag size that will last through a good stretch of the growing months.

Wagg Complete Puppy

Why we chose it

A 12kg bag is the practical size for a puppy that's going to keep eating more as it grows, so you're not back at the shop every few weeks. The added salmon oil is the detail that put it ahead of Wagg's plainer lines for us.
