Brand: Vetzyme

Full description

Older dogs slow down for lots of reasons, and stiff joints are one of the few that a daily supplement can genuinely support rather than just mask.

Vetzyme's Flexible Joint tablets combine glucosamine with fish oil (Omega 3), given as a once-a-day bite rather than mixed into food. Vetzyme's own guide scales the amount by the dog's weight: half a bite for 5-21kg, one bite for 22-33kg, and one and a half bites for 34-46kg, with heavier dogs stepped up further on the pack.

On the dosing. Vetzyme scale the daily amount by weight rather than giving one dose for every dog. Check the pack itself for the exact band your dog falls into, and speak to your vet before starting a joint supplement if your dog has an existing condition rather than just age-related stiffness.

Who it's for: owners of older dogs, or larger breeds, wanting a daily joint supplement fed alongside their normal food rather than a treatment for a diagnosed condition.

Vetzyme Flexible Joint with Glucosamine Tablets

Why we chose it

A once-a-day tablet is a far easier habit to keep up than a powder that has to be measured and mixed in, which is the practical reason it earns shelf space next to the food. It's aimed squarely at larger and older dogs, so it fills a specific gap rather than trying to suit every dog.
