Puppies eat little and often, which makes pouch size a practical question rather than a marketing one. A big tin opened for a small puppy is mostly a fridge problem, and the half that gets thrown away costs more than the difference between formats.

This is a single 150g pouch, and a complete food rather than a topper. Chicken is 60% of it, with potato at 20% (from 5.3% dried potato) and vegetables at 7%, plus tomato pomace at 0.5% and salmon oil at 0.3%, finished with dried tomato, kelp and basil. It is grain free — Naturo make the case that the potato is what makes it more digestible for a puppy's stomach — with no added artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, and a full mineral and vitamin package including vitamin A at 1500IU and vitamin E at 40mg per kg. The analysis is 11% protein, 8.5% fat, 1% fibre, 3% ash and 72% moisture.

• 150g pouch, complete food for puppies

• Protein 11%, fat 8.5%, moisture 72%
• Grain free, no added artificial colours, flavours or preservatives

Naturo's own copy credits an oil that is not in the recipe. The description puts the omega 3 and 6 down to sunflower and salmon oils; the composition printed alongside it lists salmon oil at 0.3% and no sunflower oil at all. The vegetable line also reads "2% Dried Carrots & 5 Peas", where the 5 is plainly meant to be a percentage and has lost its sign. More importantly for you: no feeding guide and no calorie figure have been supplied for this pouch, so portion by the pack and ask your vet about amounts if your puppy is a breed that grows fast.

Who it's for: someone weaning a puppy onto wet food who wants to try a grain-free recipe by the pouch, and owners of a small breed for whom a 150g meal is the right size to open.
