A puppy weaning onto wet food benefits from a recipe that is straightforward about what is in it, rather than one hidden behind vague "meat derivatives" language - it makes checking for allergies or sensitivities far simpler from the start. This one names its ingredients plainly.

Chicken makes up 60% of the recipe, with rice at 3.2%, carrot at 3.2% and dried egg at 3.2%, alongside a small amount of dried seaweed. It is complete and balanced, aimed at puppies from 4 weeks to 12 months, in a 390G carton.

On the packaging. This comes in an easy-open, reclosable carton designed for ambient storage before opening, which makes it more convenient to store than a can - though once opened it still needs to go in the fridge like any wet food.

Who it's for: puppies from 4 weeks through to 12 months who need a plainly labelled, complete wet food with a clear ingredient breakdown.
