Pound for pound, a small dog actually burns more energy than a large one — part of why 'one size fits all' dog food doesn't really exist, even within the small-to-medium bracket this recipe is built for.

This IAMS Advanced Nutrition recipe is for small and medium breed adult dogs, built on dried chicken and turkey at 27% (16% named as chicken) with fresh chicken at a further 10%. Protein sits at 26%, fat at 15%, and it includes IAMS' DentalCare System, an antioxidant blend with vitamin E, and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids for skin and coat.

• 2kg bag, dry food for small and medium breed adult dogs (1+ years)
• Dried chicken and turkey 27% (16% named as chicken); fresh chicken 10%
• Protein 26%, fat 15%, crude fibre 2.6%, crude ash 6.5%
• DentalCare System kibble, aimed at reducing tartar
• Antioxidant blend with vitamin E; omega-3 and omega-6 for skin and coat

On the numbers. IAMS market this as '82% animal protein', a figure given as a share of total protein rather than of the whole recipe — the composition itself lists dried chicken and turkey at 27% by weight. Worth reading the composition list rather than the headline percentage if you're comparing bags.

Who it's for: owners of a small or medium adult dog wanting a straightforward chicken-based dental-care kibble, without the lamb flavour or age-specific formulas found elsewhere in the range.
