A puppy tray that names its added extras individually - down to fractions of a percent - is telling you it has nothing to hide in the small print, and this one lists nine separate additions on top of its headline chicken. That level of detail is worth noticing on a food this size.

Chicken makes up 70% of the recipe, with vegetables at 14% (potato, peas and carrot), plus salmon oil at 0.4%, dried tomato at 0.15%, seaweed at 0.08%, green lipped mussel at 0.05% and five further herbs and extracts each below 0.05%. It has no added grain.

• Freshly prepared chicken 70%, vegetables 14%
• Salmon oil 0.4%, green lipped mussel 0.05%
• Crude protein 9%, crude fat 8.5%, moisture 76%
• No added grain
• 380G tray

What the small additions add up to. Most of the named extras - dried tomato, seaweed, green lipped mussel, chicory, parsley, basil, green tea, rosemary, rosehip - sit at or below 0.05% each, so they are genuinely minor inclusions rather than headline functional ingredients, even though they are named individually.

Who it's for: puppies with sensitive stomachs or skin, thanks to the no-added-grain recipe and high chicken content.
