Full description
An ordinary tennis ball on a dog toy tends to fail at the seam — chewed, soaked and thrown enough times, the felt splits and the rubber underneath follows. Guru's answer is to fuse the ball onto a stick using an overmoulded process, rather than gluing a standard ball on afterwards.
The Tennis Max Stick squeaks on the bite, floats for water retrieves, and is built to resist soaking up slobber the way a felt-covered ball normally does. It uses Guru's own ChewPro material, aimed at rough play without being harsh on a dog's teeth and gums.
- Fused, overmoulded ball-and-stick construction
- Squeaks when bitten
- Floats, for water retrieves
- Slobber-resistant surface
- Built with Guru's ChewPro material
One thing worth knowing. We have no dimensions or weight breakdown by section, and no stated size guidance for different dogs, only that it is a Medium. If your dog is at the larger end of what a Medium usually covers, we cannot confirm this specific stick will suit them before you order.
Who it's for: dogs that fetch hard and wet, and owners whose last tennis ball toy came apart at the felt within a few sessions.

Why we chose it
Fusing the ball to the stick rather than gluing it on is the actual engineering point here, and it is why we picked this over a cheaper look-alike. Floating for water retrieves is also a genuinely useful feature if you walk anywhere near open water.
